Tefton (TJ) Smith graduated from BYU with a degree in International Relations, then received a law degree from the University of Utah. 
He maintains an active membership in the Utah Bar and has worked in-house for several tech companies including Adobe, Ancestry.com, Symantec, CrowdStrike, and Okta.  More importantly, he is the father of 5 and has had three sons graduate from Spectrum Academy Pleasant Grove.  He also coached the PG varsity basketball team during the 2024-25 season.

Cory Weeks

Cory Weeks currently serves under appointment as the Director for the Division of Fleet Operations for the State of Utah. He oversees operations for the state motor pool and state fuel network programs. Prior to that position, he was senior manager in the Division of Finance. Cory is a Certified Public Accountant with a background in governmental financial management, accounting, internal controls and information security. Cory is married with four children, two of whom attend Spectrum Academy. Free time is spent making family memories any way we can.

School Board Responsibilities

  • Sets the general direction and expectations of the School District.
  • Hires, supervises, and evaluates the Executive Directors.
  • Establishes the District vision, goals, and priorities.
  • Develops, adopts, and revises policies for District and Board operation as required by law and as determined by the Board.
  • Approves a balanced budget that supports Districts vision and goals, approving all expenditures.
  • Oversees implementation of the District plan, including establishment and operation of schools, and adoption of school curriculum.
  • Ensures accountability and sets clear expectations for administration and staff.

Board Meeting Records

Board Meetings are typically held the third Wednesday of each month, with the location alternating between the North Salt Lake and Pleasant Grove Campuses.

Board Meetings are open to the public and we welcome parent involvement.
